Here a list of the most important feature enhancements in OctoWare:

Follow Mode / MultiVideo Mode***

-allows grouping of UserStations and SAMs to force automatically triggered switching of related User Stations to corresponding SAMs.

e.g. 

1) Switching from a "leader" User Station to a "leader" SAM automatically switches related User Stations to switch to related SAMs ==> MultiHead Graphic support

2) Switching from a "leader" User Station to a "leader" SAM automatically switches related User Stations to the same SAM

*** requires to have Octoware continously in sync with Octet system***

 

SNMP Support

Octet now supports SNMP.

You can make the system sending trap notifications.

You can force a switching activity on the Octet via SNMP.

You can power cycle the Octet switching system.



Configure Matrix

Configure matrix allows to create predefined switching scenarios in a table view design.
Scenarios can be saved and reloaded.
Very easy to use! Perfect for presentation purposes.


Force Connect

forces a single User Station to connect to a dedicated SAM.


Force Disconnect

forces a single User Station to disconnect from a dedicated SAM.


Database Management

allows to administrate multiple and independent of each other Octet switching systems from a single PC running Octoware.
Can also be used to create backup databases.


Import /Export

Allows importing and exporting of user names and server names from and to a CSV file.
Allocation of imported server names to SAM UIDs is easy to do.

Importing can be done either form a CSV file or from an LDAP source!!!


Login User

You can login in users to one or more User Stations from Octoware. 


API support

With synchronized OctoWare running you can use an API interface to perform some system control functions, e.g. clearing database, login admin etc.

For the moment the options here are very limited and more or less just interesting to us from the troubleshooting point of view.
Once there will be more option to actively control the switching system added we can make commercial use out of it. ( Contact one of your colleagues who has been to the trainng course last November in Shannon for more info!)


Support for new hardware

Octoware 3.0.0.3 will identify new upcoming hardware like KV1703E ( Octet 4x16 ) which will be available by beginning of April.
